LEARNING ST. PATRICK´S DAY PARADE

Hello Everyone!!!

St Patricks Blessings

THIS IS SAINT PATRICK

St. Patrick depicted in a stained glass window at St. Benin's Church, Ireland

Saint Patrick's Day or the Feast of Saint Patrick is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on 17th March, the anniversary of his death. It commemorates Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461), the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland, and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland.
The Day is generally characterised by the attendance of church services, wearing of green attire, public parades and processions, and the lifting of Lenten restrictions on eating, and drinking alcohol, which is often proscribed during the rest of the season.
St. Patrick´s Day is a national holiday in the Republic of Ireland (but not Northern Ireland, where it is a bank holiday); and in many parts of North America, Britain, Canada and Australia.
